Creating and Selecting Layers

To create A new Layer:

To create a new layer there are 2 ways,

1. you can go to the menu bar, choose window, layers palette

2. in the layers menu, click the new layer icon on the down right side of the palette

3. This would create a new layer above the layer you were on while clicking the icon

4. Now you can rename the layer by double clicking on it's name and entering a new name

1. Or you can go to the menu bar, layer menu, and choose new layer

2. This will create a new layer above the layer you are currently on

3. you can rename the layer by double clicking on it's name and entering a new name

To Select A Layer:

1. Clicking on a layer in the layers list would automatically select the layer

2. You can also select a specific layer on the screen by choosing the black arrow in the tool box

3. Then check the Auto-select layer option in the option bar

4. This would allow you to automatically select the layer by clicking on it on the screen

To Select Multiple Layers:

1. Click on the layer you choose to select

2. Hold the Shift key on your keyboard

3. click on the other layers you want to select

4. This would highlight the selected layers in Photoshop

5. Now you can link the layers, lock or delete them.
