=> Photoshop Tutorials => Photoshop 101 - The Basics => Photoshop Layers Basics ==> The Layer Menu ==> Arrange Layers
this command will help you to arrange your layer the way you like in the layers palette.
If you select that command, a sub menu will appear, that sub menu contains the following options:
1.Bring to front or you can use the key board shortcut Shift+Ctrl+].
2.Bring forward or Ctrl+].
3.Send backward or Ctrl+[.
4.Send to back or Shift+Ctrl+[
5.Reverse.
How Arrange Works:
1. Lets say that you have six layers in your layers palette, and you want to bring layer six which is the lowest layer in the list to be above layer one which is the first layer in the list all you have to do is: -Select layer six in the layers palette.
-Go to the menu bar >> select layer >> arrange then choose send to front, or you can select layer six and use the keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+].
2. Lets say that you want to bring any layer above the layer that is exactly above it or bring it up one step only all you have to do is:
a.Select that layer from the layers palette.
b.Go to the menu bar >> layer >> arrange then choose bring forward, or you can select that layer and use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+].
3. What if you want to move that layer instead of one step higher in the list you want to move it one step lower in the list, all you need to do is:
a.Select the layer you want to move.
b.Go to the menu-bar >> select layer >> Arrange >> then choose send backward or you can select that layer and use key board shortcut Ctrl+[.
4.If you want to do the exact opposite action you did in the first exercise (send to front), and you want to move a layer in the list to the lowest place, do the following:
a.Select the layer you want to move.
b.Go to the menu-bar, select layer >> arrange then choose send to back, or you can select that layer and use the keyboard shortcut Shift+Ctrl+[.
5. Lets say you have three layers 1, 2 and 3. layer 1 is at the top of the list, 2 is in the middle, and 3 is below two at the bottom of the list, and you want to reverse the order of these layers to be 3, 2, 1, 3 at the top, 2 in the middle and 1 in the bottom. All you need to do is:
a.Select the layer 1, 2, and 3 in the layers palette. Go to the menu bar, select layer, then go to arrange then choose reverse from the sub-menu. And that's it.
