Channels Palette

You can access the channel palette by going to window - channels In the channel palette you would see that the content changes according to your Image mode With our case we are using RGB You can see that every channel has the basic color that RGB consists of

This Looks like the layer palette where the eye File:channe43.gif represents visibility, so you just click on the eye in the green channel, this would make the green channel invisible and it would remove the green color from your image

Here we will apply the channel palette on The Google Box image. Original picture

Alpha Channels

Alpha Channels are a type of mask used either to make, edit, or store selections. Where the selection is represented in black and white colors only. The alpha channel option:

1. To make an alpha channel, click on the create new channel icon at the bottom of the channel palette, or make a selection with a selection tool and save the selection by going to the select menu and choose save selection. That will make automatically a new alpha channel in the channel palette.


2. To edit the alpha channel, click on the channel and click on the icon on the top right of the palette to open the channel palette menu

3. with the palette option, you can determine the color and overlay opacity.
