Layer Comps Palette

To access layer comps palette Go to windows - Layer comps.

Layer comps are there in Photoshop to help make variant shapes and alternations on your document without you needing to create more than one document. So you just make your changes and save every final touches on a separate comp. Like if you want to put an image colored once in blue, then in red, you may put each colored image on a layer in this palette.

Layer comps palette has many options, so lets take a look at it:

You'll need to create a new layer comp by clicking the new layer comp icon at the bottom of the palette.File:layerc9.gif

File:layerc10.gif These navigations buttons are there to navigate through the different layer comps that you have in your document.

File:layerc11.gif The trash can icon is for deleting the selected layer comp.

When you choose to open a new layer comp, a window will appear

in it you can enter the desired name for the layer comp, visibility in case you want it to be a hidden layer comp, and the position which when checked would remember the position of each layer. And the appearance that would remember the layer style . In in the comment box you can enter any comments that relate to the image or the data available on the layer. (in case there would be audio notes for example).
