The New Photoshop Cs3 Palettes

Palettes

On the right you will see that the palettes are grouped into a dock, that will give you more workspace, and you can access the palette menu by clicking on its icon in the dock and can hide it back by clicking on it again. You can do two things with docks:

1: make groups of palettes

2: make the docks of panels collapse to icons.

Note : In CS2 when resizing the palettes size they used to overlap, now since you have the palettes grouped in docks, when you resize a palette in Cs3 the other palettes resize automatically, therefore they do not over lap.

Creating Docks: 1. While dragging a palette next to a dock that is already in the workspace and coming near the edge of the dock you will see that the vertical line becomes blue.

2. seeing that vertical blue line, you can drop the palette there.

3. A new dock will be created containing only that palette.

Adding More Palettes:

4. If you need to add more palette to it, you should again drag the palette that you want to the top or bottom of the palette that is already in the dock

5. Again, you will see a blue line (but here its horizontal)

6. drop your palette there.

Hiding Palettes Temporarily: (watch the Workspace Video for more details) 1. If you want to make the workspace larger without Palettes covering your work all you have to do is to click (shift + tab) which will make the palette automatically disappear

2. As in Photoshop Cs2, to make the Palette re-appear, press (shift + tab) again and the Palette will appear again.

3. Another way of making the Palette appear temporarily, all you have to do is to move your mouse to the right side of the screen and wait till the Palette appears again.

4. To make the Palette temporarily disappear again move your mouse away from the Palettes. It's like the Auto hide the taskbar feature in windows XP. Media:Example.ogg
