Shortcuts

Preset Shortcuts: (arranged Alphabetically) Notice that Windows Users' shortcuts Differ from the Mac users' shortcuts.


  • Applying Last Filter: Ctrl (Command) + F
  • Brush Tool: Ctrl (Command) + B
  • Clone Stamp: Ctrl (Command) + S
  • Copying all visible layer in selected area: Ctrl (Command) + Shift +C
  • Copying current layer in selected area: Ctrl (Command) +C
  • Copying selection to new Layer: Ctrl (Command) + J
  • Crop Tool: Ctrl (Command) + C
  • Cut selection to new Layer: Ctrl (Command) + Shift+ J
  • Deselect: Ctrl (Command) + D
  • Fade Last Command: Ctrl (Command) + Shift+ F
  • Feather Selection: Ctrl (Command) + Alt + D
  • Filling with Current Foreground Color: Alt + Backspace (delete)
  • Filling with Current Background Color: Ctrl (Command)/Alt + Backspace (delete)
  • Free Transform: Ctrl (Command) + T
  • Inversing Selection: Ctrl (Command)+ Shift + I
  • Marquee: Ctrl (Command) + M
  • Move Tool: Ctrl (Command) + V
  • Move and Copy Current Layer: While on the Move tool, Hold the Alt key.
  • New Image: Ctrl (Command) + N
  • Opening an Image: Ctrl (Command) + O
  • Panning your image: Hold the spacebar and click and Drag with the mouse.
  • Paste: Ctrl (Command) + V
  • Pen Tool: Ctrl (Command) + P
  • Printing: Ctrl (Command) + P
  • Print with Preview: Ctrl (Command) + Alt + P
  • Reselecting last Selection: Ctrl (Command) + Shift + D
  • Reset Foreground/Background Color: D
  • Sample Color: Alt while on a painting tool
  • Save as: Ctrl (Command) + Shift + S
  • Save Image: Ctrl (Command) + S
  • Toggling Foreground/Background Color: X
  • Toggling Undo/Redo: Ctrl (Command) + Z
  • Zoom In: Ctrl (Command) + Spacebar + Click
  • Zoom Out: Ctrl (Command) + alt + Spacebar + Click


Customizing Shortcuts:

(applies to CS, CS2, and CS3) Go to Edit > Keyboard shortcuts, or type down the shortcuts (Alt+Shift+Ctrl+K), with this option you can add your own shortcuts.

This would open a window with the options you can choose from.

You can choose between Set: Photoshop Default, or working with Type. Shortcuts for : Application Menus, Palette Menus, or Tools. Application Menu Commands: where you can change every option's own shortcut to one that suits you.

Then you can either: Accept the changes that you made for the shortcuts Undo the changes that you made for the shortcuts

Use the default Shortcuts (incase you want to go back to the preset shortcuts),

Add more shortcuts (that would preserve the ones that you previously modified) Delete Shortcuts that enables you to delete all the shortcuts. (At any time you can just press on Use Default again, and the preset shortcuts would come back)

Summarize option would open the ordinary saving window on your Pc/Mac device to ask you where do you want to save all your short cuts so you can print them, Examine them, ect.
